About IAAP

Reflecting the broader range of job titles and expanded responsibilities held by today's administrative support staff, member delegates of Professional Secretaries International voted to change their organization's name to the International Association of Administrative Professionals. The name change was approved on Monday, August 3, 1998, during the 56-year-old association's International Convention and Education Forum in Atlanta, Georgia; and became effective at the close of the convention on Wednesday, August 5. Founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association, the name was changed to Professional Secretaries International in 1981.

IAAP is a professional association consisting of more then 40,000 members and affiliates worldwide. We have chapters in almost every major city in the United States and Canada, and we have an international Network of more then 35 international affiliated associations located in countries all over the globe. IAAP's mission is to enhance the image of the office profession and to inspire and equip all office professionals to attain excellence. More simply stated, IAAP has provided opportunities and resources to help our association for administration professionals.
