About IAAP
Reflecting the broader range of
job titles and expanded responsibilities held by today's
administrative support staff, member delegates of
Professional Secretaries International voted to change
their organization's name to the
International
Association of Administrative Professionals.
The name change was approved on Monday, August 3, 1998, during
the 56-year-old association's International Convention and
Education Forum in Atlanta, Georgia; and became effective at the
close of the convention on Wednesday, August 5. Founded in 1942
as the National Secretaries Association, the name was changed to
Professional Secretaries International in 1981.
IAAP is a professional
association consisting of more then 40,000 members and
affiliates worldwide. We have chapters in almost every major
city in the United States and Canada, and we have an
international Network of more then 35 international affiliated
associations located in countries all over the globe. IAAP's
mission is to enhance the image of the office profession and to
inspire and equip all office professionals to attain excellence.
More simply stated, IAAP has provided opportunities and
resources to help our association for administration
professionals.
