Membership
The role of the
office professional is an evolving one. As times change,
responsibilities and expectations change. Typing, shorthand,
filing, and dictation/ transcription are no longer the only
skills needed. Today's executive and administrative assistants
are expected to master all types of new technology and office
equipment. Expansion into international market place calls for
new business practices. Corporation restructuring and
reengineering is causing a shift in management responsibilities.
Administrative specialists and executive assistants are now
handling duties of former middle managers. In these times of
changing business practices, office professionals find they need
additional training - in supervisory skills, time management,
communication, information management, etc. IAAP is an
organization dedicated to the education and professional
development of all administrative and executive support staff.
